It's that time.

Laren admitted it, and so did Alyssa. My weight is out of control. Last spring I got on the scale and saw a number I had never seen before. I started working out and changing my eating. I got things under control and even got down to a weight that I was pretty happy with. Well, just past New Year's, I got on the scale again, and that last never again number was there again, only it was bigger. I was only 10 pounds from my absolute terror number. Yikes! I have been working out a lot, but those numbers are totally unacceptable.

So far I've made a few changes (mustard on my sandwich instead of mayo,) but mainly we've just stopped eating out. It's amazing! I've steadily lost 2 pounds a week just from eating in. Plus my bank account looks a lot better. I'm going to stay committed, and I should be down at or below my last-spring number by V-day. Then I'll just have to keep it up. It's hard to stay on track without a buddy though, and DH is just not very helpful in this regard. At least he eats what I cook, so if I bring home takeout or cook at home, he still eats it. That sort of counts as support, right?

Emotional Affair

I had one this weekend. On Thursday night I saw an ad for McDonald's. A double cheeseburger value meal for only $2.99! OMG. Double cheeseburger! Fries! I was craving.

Then Friday I ran some errands after Professional Development and was late eating lunch. I swung into the grocery store to get something to eat. I ended up with a vegetable salad roll from the sushi department. I love these things! Avacado, lettuce, red cabbage, cucumbers, and carrots wrapped in an unfried woton wrapper. So, good for me. Bonus for there being no rice!

Did I mention that the grocery store shares a parking lot with McDonald's? I seriously had my blinker on to turn into the drive through. I stopped at the last second though. Instead I had half a turkey sandwich on organic whole grain bread with my shushi roll to satisfy my bread craving.

It was close though, and I feel seriously guilty for allowing myself to be so tempted.

Three!

I was so annoyed yesterday. I weighed myself at the gym and I was back to my starting weight. Grrrr. I worked out again today though. Actually I did 20 minutes on the treadmill and then a high intensity aerobics class. Go me! I decided to weigh myself again, and my weight was down three pounds. Wha? To be fair, yesterday was the first day of AF and I had eaten enough salt for an army at the Super Bowl party the night before. Assuming I see similar numbers later this week, I'm going to blame that other number on water weight.

I beat myself up about my weight for quite a while last night, but I am glad that I went back to the gym to keep working hard. I can do this.

At least that's what I keep telling myself. Especially when my boss calls and bitches me out for being fat. Gah.
