My First Time

I have been reading the Pioneer Woman's cooking blog for a couple of years now. Her recipes always look great, but they also often look complicated and like they require a much nicer cooking setup than I have. I finally popped my proverbial cherry and made my first PW recipe.

DH's birthday was Sunday, but he was out of town. I made him a special dinner last night though: Chicken with Mushrooms and Artichokes. It was great! The prep was easy, the supplies cost less than $30, and he felt loved and appreciated. I halved the recipe, and we had more than enough food. The only bad part was that the pan was so hot after being in the oven that the cream got over heated and didn't thicken up like it should have. Oh yeah, and I ended up eating pasta instead of broccoli like I should have. All in all, a success though.

If you don't already read this blog though, check it out. Her recent post about cinnamon toast is hilarious!
